Cape Auget Eco-Trail

Step back in time on this walk on the edge of North America. On one side is a wilderness-gnarled windblown forests, streams and bogs and scraps of meadow. On the other side are the endless ocean vistas - a view of the sea. A sea which brought more then 350 settlers to Isle Madame.

Follow the Isle Madame roadside signs to Boudreauville trailhead, where you will find parking, a picnic area, washrooms and orientation signs and maps. Allow half a day to hike the whole trail, or choose a shorter route by following one or more of the many paths off the main trail.

Doyle�s Road Trail

Take a leisurely hike on the trail that starts in D’Escousse and ends in Rocky Bay. Trail is 2.2 miles long.

LeNoir Forge Museum

Thomas and Simon LeNoir sailed from France to Arichat at the turn of the 19th century. By 1811 they had a set up a blacksmith and locksmith business they built the Forge with stone blocks from Port Hood. The ‘Old Forge’ serviced many vessels, fitting and refitting them with chains and anchors.

Restored in 1967 as a museum, the Forge features artifacts from Isle Madame’s past; operated by the Isle Madame Historical Society, it is the focal point of the Arichat Waterfront.

Open June to September, 10:00 to 5:00 daily. Tours guides on site to help you explore local history.

Martinique Provincial Park/Beach

This popular park features a picnic area, walking trails and beach. It also contains fire pits for campfires and fresh water hook ups. You may even have a visit from a pair of tame rabbits, they will eat right out of your hand, such a pleasure for the children.

Pondville Beach

A beautiful sandy beach located on the east side of Isle Madame. In July the Richmond Recreation Dept sponsors a sand castle building contest. Lots of family fun!

Rocky Bay Beach

Rocky shoreline for a family swim or surfing the waves! Ideal hiking conditions along this rugged coast line.

Wreck of the Arrow

A top-rated dive site located just off coast of Isle Madame. Take a historic dive out to the oil tanker The Arrow, which hit Cerberus Rock in February 1971. Merlin Diving Inc. can assist you in your dive, by supplying the gear, and lessons needed.
